Principal Corner

Please join me for a special “Newcomers Coffee” on Thursday, January 24 from 9:15 to 10:15 in the Grand Ridge Conference Room.  This will be a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and meet other parents.  Bring a friend or neighbor and enjoy coffee and conversations. Thank you to our PTSA for hosting this event.

February School-Wide Letter Writing

During February students will be encouraged to write letters to other students and staff. These letters will be “mailed” in Grand Ridge mailboxes that are placed throughout the school.  To supplement their study of communities, second grade classes will sort and deliver the mail on February 8, 11, 12, 14, and 15. Thank you for your support of authentic writing opportunities such as this one!

SPIRIT DAY

January 11, will be our school-wide Spirit Day – Hawaiian Day! Come to school dressed in your best beach/summer gear ready to celebrate summer in January! Please remember warm clothes and shoes for recess and no bathing suits please

Everyday Math:  Resources for Home

To learn about these fabulous tools that are available to parents, come to our PTSA Parent Education meeting on Wednesday, January 23, at 7 PM (note new date).  Principal Barb Walton and a team of Grand Ridge teachers will be available to help you learn how you can be actively  involved in helping your child at home with math.
