Principal Corner
WASL assessments begin after Spring Break for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Testing will begin in the morning as soon as attendance is taken. Please be respectful of this and make sure your students arrive on time. Due to student privacy rights, parent volunteers may not be in classrooms while the WASL is being administered. All assessment booklets and student responses for the WASL are confidential and will be handled in a very secure manner. Thank you for your understanding on these state mandated requirements for the WASL assessment. As parent, the best thing you can do is what you do every day; make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, has a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time with words of encouragement.
Safety Reminder
We have monthly fires drills and earthquake drills to prepare children and staff in case of these emergencies. When you are a parent volunteering in the building, please follow the same emergency evacuation procedures that our students and staff follow. During our drills, all volunteers must report to the field to be accounted for. We use our sign in/out sheets in order to verify. Thank you for following the safety procedures that make our drills successful by evacuating the building to our fields. For more detailed information on school safety, please check our website: http://www.grandridge.issaquah.wednet.edu/procedures.htm
