Members in attendance: Barb Walton, Lori Bumstead, Adrienne Hauta, Judy Bowlby, Erica Davis, Julie Siefkes, Amy Ciszewski, Erica Taylor, Coleta Wilson, Ron Saran, and Shelly Dolen

Public Comment:

• Question from Coleta Wislon concerning Nintendo DS being allowed at Grand Ridge during recess time.  It was explained that the Core Team policy was to allow electronic devices at school.  The devices are allowed to be used only at recess and on the buses to and from school.  The school is not responsible for loss or damage of any electronic device brought to school by a student.

Old Business:

• Action Request Forms:
• Will be posted on school website on Site Council page.
• Hard copy also available for pick-up at school.

                        Further discussion occurred about the possibility of having one e-mail an                             address for site council so that forms can be turned in via e-mail.

• Emergency Procedures & Reunification Plan
• Emergency procedures are located under Laura Maloney’s desk in the office.
• Banner made to direct parent during emergency. “Grand Central” will be the meeting place.
• Police will be sent to school in an emergency situation.
• Procedures to be posted on the website for preview.
• Hard copies of the procedure will be passed out to parents at school during the emergency situation.
• Other
• Parent handbook was sent out to families.
• Party policy was reviewed. There is not a ban on sugar; however, parties need to honor the nutrition policy.

New Business:

· District Budget Timelines:

§ Freshman Campus to be converted to a middle school Sept. ’09.

§ Boundary Review before Sept. ‘09

· Superintendent Search:

§ 3 finalists

· Math Adoption Process/Personal Safety:

§ Meeting at Grand Ridge Feb. 28^th.

§ Reminder e-mail to be sent for Issaquah Highlands to remind motorist to slow down.

§ Pick-up/Drop off procedures are available on the website.

    Committee Reports:

· PTSA:

§ Thank you to all that helped and/or participated in the Rockn’ Red Social.

§ Family Skate Night March 14^th 6:30-8:30. Staff invited, teachers free.

§ Art Docent program is up and running.

§ Kindergarten Round-up information in newsletter.

§ Jamba Juice for students as a reward for reaching Box Top goal.

§ Nomination for board ready to post by March 14^th.

§ Applied for PTSA awards.

§ Grand Ridge is now at 100% PTSA membership.

Principal:

§ Standford make-ups complete. (Stanford is a norm reference test.)

§ WASL April 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th.

§ 2^nd grade will take COGAT test for gifted students.

§ 5^th graders to Camp Coleman.

§ Up coming 5^th visits to the middle school.

§ Four of the make-up days are complete.

§ March 23^rd will be the next make-up day.

§ If the waiver is approved, the last day of school will move from Tuesday, June 26, to Monday, June 25; and instead of schools operating on the shortened Learning-Improvement-Calendar Wednesday schedule (early release for elementary, late start for high schools) on March 14 and April 18, schools will operate on normal schedules.

§ 6 portable classrooms added Sept ‘07

§ 2 1^st grades, 1 4^th grade, 1 2^nd grade so far to be added Sept ‘07

§ School wide projection is over 700 students next year.

§ Thursdays Barb Walton hosts Coffee & Questions in the conference room.
