Members in attendance: Barb Walton, Lori Bumstead, Adrienne Hauta, Judy Bowlby, Erica Davis, Julie Siefkes, Amy Ciszewski, Erica Taylor, Coleta Wilson, Ron Saran, and Shelly Dolen

 

Public Comment:

 

Approval of Minutes: Approved

 

Old Business:

                        Further discussion occurred about the possibility of having one e-mail an                             address for site council so that forms can be turned in via e-mail.

New Business:

·        District Budget Timelines:

§         Freshman Campus to be converted to a middle school Sept. ’09.

§         Boundary Review before Sept. ‘09

·        Superintendent Search:

§         3 finalists

·        Math Adoption Process/Personal Safety:

§         Meeting at Grand Ridge Feb. 28th.

§         Reminder e-mail to be sent for Issaquah Highlands to remind motorist to slow down.

§         Pick-up/Drop off procedures are available on the website.

    Committee Reports:

·        PTSA:

§         Thank you to all that helped and/or participated in the Rockn’ Red Social.

§         Family Skate Night March 14th 6:30-8:30. Staff invited, teachers free.

§         Art Docent program is up and running.

§         Kindergarten Round-up information in newsletter.

§         Jamba Juice for students as a reward for reaching Box Top goal.

§         Nomination for board ready to post by March 14th.

§         Applied for PTSA awards.

§         Grand Ridge is now at 100% PTSA membership.

 

Principal:

§         Standford make-ups complete. (Stanford is a norm reference test.)

§         WASL April 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

§         2nd grade will take COGAT test for gifted students.

§         5th graders to Camp Coleman.

§         Up coming 5th visits to the middle school.

§         Four of the make-up days are complete.

§         March 23rd will be the next make-up day.

§         If the waiver is approved, the last day of school will move from Tuesday, June 26, to Monday, June 25; and instead of schools operating on the shortened Learning-Improvement-Calendar Wednesday schedule (early release for elementary, late start for high schools) on March 14 and April 18, schools will operate on normal schedules.

§         6 portable classrooms added Sept ‘07

§         2 1st grades, 1 4th grade, 1 2nd grade so far to be added Sept ‘07

§         School wide projection is over 700 students next year.

§         Thursdays Barb Walton hosts Coffee & Questions in the conference room.
